On 13 May, nine good friends and I will be rowing the Ringvaart canal for a good cause.

The Ringvaart Regatta is an annual rowing race where a wide range of rowers tackle a 100-kilometre route. We start in Leiden and row via Haarlem and Amsterdam, eventually reaching the finish in Delft.

We are not undertaking this arduous journey lightly. Some time ago, one of our fellow debate club members lost his younger brother to meningitis.

Every day, 10 to 15 people in the Netherlands are affected by meningitis or encephalitis. Many of them do not survive or are left with permanent sequelae, such as paralysis, cognitive impairments, and memory loss. Research into this can effectively save lives but is unfortunately very costly.

The money we raise will be fully donated to the ITsME foundation, which is dedicated to research into meningitis.

Every little bit helps and is more than welcome!

Many thanks in advance and with sporting regards,

Omertà
